Air: Low cost flights to La Rochelle,
Poitiers and Bordeaux, from Stanstead are fairly
frequent.
By
Rail: The TGV stops at Niort or
Surgeres. Car hire is available at both locations.

Sea: The channel ports St Malo
in three and a half hours, Caen and Le Havre in
five hours and Cherbourg in about five and a half
hours. All these ports operate overnight ferries
where you can take a cabin, have a meal and watch
a film, enjoy live music and even cabaret acts.
For those coming by Eurostar, Calais is 7 hours
